What is Hunt Residencies?

Hunt Residencies, established in 2022, is a nonprofit artist residency program in Buffalo, New York, dedicated to supporting emerging artists through free studio space, mentorship, exhibition opportunities, and professional development. Who is eligible to apply for the residency?

How long is the residency?

What are the key responsibilities of the artist during the residency?

Artists in the program are expected to:

  • Maintain a consistent studio practice.

  • Participate in shared space exhibitions and contribute to the final group exhibition at the Hunt Art Gallery.

  • Attend weekly meetings with art industry professionals and participate in tours of local art venues.

  • Volunteer at Hunt Gallery events and contribute to artist-led workshops or talks in collaboration with the Gallery Manager.

  • Engage in a collaborative project with the other residents of the cohort.
