Hunt Residencies VII

My name is Akasya, she/her. I am a digital artist and mixed media painter based here in Buffalo, NY. As a visual artist born to paint nature but forced to make dumb videos on Instagram, my artwork divides itself into two styles. One is a loud, flat look that is easily consumable in commercial settings, and the other is a more traditional style of painted landscapes which are heavily layered, textured, and peaceful. I am looking to marry the two aesthetics in this residency while exploring concepts of modern communication and the way we share our art with constantly shortening attention spans (which is not necessarily bad, but new and different). It has affected the way others perceive my work, and maybe more importantly, how I make it.
